Week 12 - DFS Cheat Codes
I hope you started Dwelley last week, because for his price he was a difference maker in your DFS line ups. The rest of my picks didn’t go over so well, but that’s the fun in fantasy football, I start every player in my line ups that I suggest being in the fire with my own advice. This week I’m bringing more value plays based on price, match up and projected ownership so we can pay up for Alvin Kamara or fill your line ups with the mid-tier players.
Ryan Fitzpatrick @ Cleveland (9% DK, .8% FD) – With most of my picks the Draft Kings price leads me more to the players than the Fan Duel price. Fitzmagic is $5000 on Draft Kings against a Cleveland defense missing not just their best pass rusher, but Garrett prior to the suspension was their best player on that side of the ball. When he’s thrown the ball more than 30 times this season, he’s seen a 60%+ completion percentage. There is a lot to hate about this Miami offense but with the Dolphins finally getting their offense going having the ‘best’ piece of it at a decent price (on DK) and non-existence ownership (on FD) it’s hard to not roll the dice on him this week. There is always the chance we see him benched, but in GPP there is not better QB that screams give me the ceiling than Ryan Fitzmagic.
Philip Lindsay @ Buffalo (14.2 DK, 13.1% FD) – Buffalo has one weakness in their elite defense, the run game. If Denver wants to stay competitive in this game, they’re going to have to move the ball through the run game and Lindsay has out snapped Freeman 2 to 1. Lindsay’s ownership is rather high at almost 15%, but his price of $5200 on DK, and $6300 on FD is why he makes the list as a cheap starting running back you can squeeze into your line up.
Marvin Jones @ Washington (0.6% DK, 0.2% FD) – So price wise, Marvin Jones is not a value play, however, he is projected almost 0 ownership. The Narrative that Jeff Driscol has taken a liking to Jones over Golladay isn’t exactly true. Golladay saw 9 targets his first game with the backup, but 3 targets last week against Dallas. Jones though, has seen a consistent number of targets with the backup. He has had 3 red zone targets to Golladay’s 1. If I had to pick the receiver with the shot at a touchdown, against the awful Washington defense I would pin it at Jones.
Ryan Griffin vs Oakland (7.1% DK, 2.8% FD) – It’s amazing after his big week last week he isn’t projected to be own more, but it seems people want nothing from this Jets offense even in DFS. The Raiders are currently the third best match up for tight ends according to Player Profiler, and the fifth best according to FFToolbox. No matter how you slice it, the Raiders are a feast for apposing fantasy tight ends and Griffin has had a quiet rise over the past couple of weeks receiving 18 targets over the last four weeks. He’s affordable too, costing less than $5000 on DK and just over $5000 on Fan Duel. Griffin should find a spot in your line up as the best TE for DFS this week.
