The Only Handcuff Worth Grabbing in 2019

Normally I would never tell someone to draft a handcuff. With limited roster space, you typically can’t waste it on a guy who could never play a snap. However, every year there is a player who is worth owning for the first few weeks in case anything happens. Last year, spending your last pick on James Conner, or picking him up before week one payed off.

Although I have expressed that I am not at all worried about Todd Gurley, Malcom Brown is the guy you want to snag with your last pick this season. If Todd Gurley’s knee acts up and is not 100%, you will have yourself a league winner for little to no cost.

No, you don’t have to hold him the entire season. Chances are, he’ll probably never take over the role because Gurley is going to be just fine. If something does happen though, before we know who the free agents to own are though, why wouldn’t you take a chance on the player who could come with the highest upside? We saw what CJ Anderson did in the fantasy championship week for those who picked him up, and he produced in the playoffs as well beside Gurley against one of the harder teams to run the ball against (Dallas).

In College Brown had 172 carries, 61 carries, 214 carries, and 183 carries. He can handle a workload, and he still has some tread on the legs. If anything happens to Todd Gurley you want to own Malcom Brown, and I highly advise owning him if you can.
