Love It or List It - Post Draft QBs and TEs
This the last installment of our post draft, Love It, or List It. I’ll do more articles like this, in the future, but for the time being this is QBs and TEs.
Eli Manning – List it. Obviously, but I do not think Daniel Jones makes the start right away. Pat Mahomes was the last quarterback drafted in the first round to sit a whole season (week 17 against Denver in 2017 doesn’t count). Manning should start the first half of the season, which will make him a streaming candidate to start. His time in dynasty is over though.
Joe Flacco – List it. Another obvious choice, but with Drew Lock being a second-round pick there is less pressure for him to start right away. Their new OC is from Shanahan’s system, so he will groom Lock nicely and could even make Flacco look good for a season. Flacco might start this whole season so he is another viable streaming candidate, better than Eli if I had to choose.
Cam Newton – Love it. Will Grier was a third-round pick. There is no way he starts, unless due to injury. Cam has his shoulder problem, but if he can get that fixed and be anything like he was the first half of the 2018 season, he is a massive value.
Case Keenum – List it. Dwayne Haskins is going to sit for a few weeks, and I would say as early as week 2 we will see him as the starter.
ASJ – Love it. N’Keal Harry is defiantly going to take over as the guy in New England, but a lot of people don’t realize ASJ went to NE to fix his career. If he molds himself into their system well, he’ll make a viable streamer because NE has no one else to fill the tight end role. NE is an ever-changing offense, so he won’t be Gronk, but he will hold some value and should make a good tight end streamer if you choose to curse yourself with that fate.
Jesse James – List it. T.J. Hockenson is now the tight end in Detroit. Jesse James will bridge this season, but I don’t even think he’ll see much use to begin with. Golladay and Jones own Stafford’s heart and this will continue until Hockenson gets involved.
Tyler Eifert / CJ Uzoma – List it. The Bengals grabbed Drew Sample in the second round. They grabbed a guy they like, and Eifert can’t stay healthy to save his life. It’s a shame as Eifert is a very good player, but the health is a massive issue. As far as Uzoma goes, he was just there. He did fine, but I think the new coaching staff wants their own tight end to work with.
Kyle Rudolph – List it. Did we ever love him? He’s been okay, but Irv Smith Jr. is going to get bridged in by the end of this season, or next. Move on from him in dynasty to a TE needy team in win now mode, and use him as a streamer tight end this season.
