I'm Joining the Henry Hype

Multiple members of brass have come out of the Titans organization and said they would like to make Derrick Henry the center point of their offense. Honestly, I’m here for it. Most of Henry’s 2018 campaign was atrocious to say the least. In the fantasy playoffs though, we saw a whole different player. In weeks 14-16 he averaged 6.9 YPC and had 7 total touchdowns in that time frame.

Henry saw the most stacked boxes in 2018. This could be due to easy predictability when Henry is on the field. If the Titans give him 30+ carries like they did in week 15 though, eventually something will hit. Henry was in the top 32 of efficiency amongst all running backs higher than Saquon Barkley, Todd Gurley and Ezekiel Elliot (according to NFLNextGenStats).

The problem with Henry? The Titans still have a lot of money in Dion Lewis, which adds some risk for in drafting him in such a high spot. Henry is currently being drafted in the fourth round, though he might be the best running back left in that round, and should certainly be taken there, and no higher than the very end of the third round. He is being drafted next to, Kerryon Johnson, Devonta Freeman, Philip Lindsay, and Tarik Cohen. Each of these running backs, including Henry, all come with some risk, so why not take the guy who has a ceiling of low end RB1, high end RB2 upside?
